What does it cost to transfer an ISO certificate?

IAF Consultancy does not publish a fee for transferring an ISO certificate. The price is stated in a written offer after the application describes the company and the certificate. A public rate card would ignore the scope, the sites, and the state of the file. The same rule applies to every service on this site.

What is the offer pricing?

A clean transfer is a review of a certification that already exists. The offer prices that review, the certification decision, and the surveillance programme that continues afterward. It is a different piece of work from a first-time Stage 1 and Stage 2, and the offer reads that way when the file supports a transfer.

The price changes when the file does not support a transfer. Missing reports, an overdue surveillance, a scope outside the accreditation, or a request to add sites all add audit time. Those days appear in the offer before you accept them.

Which facts move the number?

• The standards on the certificate, and whether more than one is moving.
• Headcount, shifts, and how many sites are in the scope.
• Whether the sites do the same work.
• Where the cycle sits: between surveillance visits, or close to recertification.
• Open nonconformities, and whether a visit is required before they can be accepted.
• Any scope you want added at the same time.

The application asks for those facts. Choose Transfer from another body for each standard that is moving. The offer comes back in writing, with the timing beside the price, so you can see whether the transfer finishes before the current certificate expires.

What should you compare the price with?

Compare it with the cost of staying: the next invoice from the current body, the visits still due, and the exposure if you wait until the certificate is close to expiry. A low quote that misses the expiry date turns into an initial audit. The timing question is in whether a transfer leaves a gap.
